Vintage Silk Furisode Ceremonial Kimono (Purple Silk)
Hand made, hand sewn in Japan.
Period: circa 1980-90s
Material: Silk (jacquard, stencil dye and hand paint)
Pattern: Sea wave, Chrysanthemums ,Wisteria, Bamboo, Cranes, Plum blossoms etc
Main colour: lavender purple
Lining : White plain silk
Furisode is a formal, full-length kimono in Japan, distinguished by its long, flowing sleeves. Traditionally, furisode are worn by young women on special occasions such as coming-of-age ceremonies or graduations. They are also commonly worn when attending weddings as guests, for New Year celebrations, or during visits to temples and shrines.
The fabric is a smooth silk jacquard, dyed using resist-dyeing techniques to depict ocean waves, colorful flowers, and plants. These motifs symbolize abundance and longevity in kimono design.
The kimono is made of silk on both sides and is entirely hand-sewn and handcrafted. The hemline is dyed in a soft orange, subtly revealing its color with every step.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition.
There also may be mild sign of age, however, except that, I don't find other major stains, damages or faults. I try to describe the kimono as accurate as possible.

kimonos are box-shape. it will fit many sizes. Please check the measurements. The model is UK size 10 body.
